This Indenture made and entered into this fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one between Joseph Smith and his wife of the County of , and State of Illinois of the first part and Joseph Smith Trustee in trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints of the County and State aforesaid, of the second part Witnesseth, that the said Joseph Smith and his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar to them in hand paid on a just and lawful settlement between themselves in person, and the , the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant Bargain, Sell, Convey, and Confirm unto the said Joseph Smith as Sole Trustee in trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, his Successors in Office and assigns forever four certain tracts of land situated lying and being in the County of & State aforesaid known and described as follows to wit: The North half of the North West Quarter of Section No. Four in Township No Two South, of Range No Eight West of the fourth principal Meridian containing one hundred and five Acres, and Eighty five hundredths of an Acre. Also the North West Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section No four in Township and Range aforesaid, containing forty five Acres and Ninety one hundreths of an Acre. Also the West half of the South half of the North West Quarter of Section No. four in Township and Range aforesaid containing forty Acres. Also a Lot of ground in the North West Corner of the South West Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section No. four in Township and Range aforesaid, being twelve poles and five feet East and West and twelve poles North and South and designated by Stone Corners containing near one Acre of land containing in the whole one hundred and Ninety Six (196) acres of Land be the same more or less. To Have and to Hold the said premises, with all the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining, unto the said Joseph Smith Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, his Successors in Office and assigns forever.
