Greeting W[h]ereas an Ordinance has been passed by your honourable Body disanulling wells in the Streets— therefore we the undersigned petitioners would hum[b]ly represent to your honourable body <​that​> the proprieters of the well dug in the street at the Junction of Patrige [Partridge] Street with Carloss Street were informed that it was counciled by Lieutenanant Jeneral Joseph Smith for the Citizens to dig wells as fast as possible as there was much sickness in the
