Biography
27 June 1807–14 Oct. 1881. Farmer, coal miner, cattleman, builder, merchant. Born in East Bradford Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Son of John Woolley and Rachel Dilworth. Raised in Quaker faith. Married Mary Wickersham, 24 Mar. 1831, in Columbiana Co., Ohio. Moved to East Rochester, Columbiana Co., by 1833. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Lorenzo D. Barnes, 24 Dec. 1837, in West Township, Columbiana Co. Ordained a high priest, 6 May 1838, in West Township. Served as president of branch at East Rochester. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, 1839. Served mission to Pennsylvania, 1840. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1840. Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Served mission to Massachusetts and Connecticut, 1842. Migrated to Salt Lake City, Sept. 1848. Elected to Utah territorial legislature, 1851. Died in Salt Lake City.
