4 Mar. 1793–2 Nov. 1839. Farmer. Born at Chilmark, Dukes Co., Massachusetts. Son of Samson Hillman and Damaris Look. Married Sarah King, ca. 1818. Moved to Cambridge, Washington Co., New York, by Aug. 1820. Member of Freewill Baptist Church. Moved to Spafford, Onondaga Co., New York, 1823. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Lyman E. Johnson, 10 Nov. 1832, at Spafford. Lived at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, 1833–1838. Ordained an elder, 29 Apr. 1836, in Kirtland. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Appointed to Kirtland high council, 3 Sept. 1837. Moved to western Missouri, 1838. Member of Adam-ondi-Ahman high council, 1838. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, spring 1839. Died at Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois.
